Family Fun

My sisters and mom came up last weekend for a visit, and then we (without Shaefer....he had to stay behind and work) headed to Chicago so the girls could meet their nana and papa (my dad's parents). We had a great time. The 'traveling' part of the trip was a lot of fun, too. Each of you would probably think I was crazy if I tried to write out the adventures of our road trip, so I will just keep those between those of us who were actually in the tahoe and car, but for a little insight:
1) two cars following each other on major intersates is not always an easy task....ie, if one makes a wrong turn, the other must join them!
2) 2 babies who like to eat, poop, and play do not necessarily enjoy long car rides and their moms do not necessarily enjoy listening to them tell us how much they do not enjoy long car rides
3) we will no longer travel on major truck routes (I57!) that have ongoing construction and lane closures down to 1 lane every 20 miles!
4) we will no longer stop for 4 hours at outlet malls that are just 2 hours outside of chicago when we still have 5 more hours to drive (not including meal stops!) {we left chicago at 9am and did not arrive back in nashville until almost 11 pm!}
5) we will never take someone who is over 60's advice on where to go for a nice dinner (have you ever seen breaded filet mignon that looked a lot more like chopped steak??
6) we will 'stock up' on sleep in the weeks prior to any vacation where the babies must sleep in the same room, regardless if it is an 900 sq ft basement
7) we will not take pictures with the grandparents when camden can mistakenly think nana's hair is something that could actually reach out and hurt her, and therefore vocalize her fear in her usual high pitched scream
8) we will not eat pizza for dinner 3 days in a row ever again
9) we will keep our sense of humors when our siblings (or mom) are driving us!

Below are a few random pics from our trip.

we made several attempts at a sibling and child picture.....these are just a few of them, but as you can see, it is hard to get all the babies to cooperate at one time...

camden: "don't worry, i've got her!"

camden: "why am I STILL holding her?? She weighs as much as I do!"

smiling isabelle

camden: "what mom?...i'm not going to push her very far i promise!"
isabelle: "please save me"

just playing together
"this ball looks good on my head, doesn't it?"
Tyler, Logan, and Noah resting in the tree house after a hard game of baseball with an all star pitcher-me!

i don't think she's afraid of heights.

my one eyed pirate and her adventurous grammy

logan gettin ready to hit his home run
